Way Back Wednesday: Baby Tyler

Playing along again.

Tyler
Date: April 2004
Age: 4 months

I think I better label photos because that sure looks like Jackson.  It is in fact my sweet baby Tyler, sleeping in his crib.

Jackson's Two Months Old!

My how quickly these two months have gone.

His stats at his check up on Friday:
Weight: 10 lbs. 7 oz. (21st percentile)
Height: 22 1/2 inches (24th percentile)

Yes, he is a little guy.

We feel lucky to have such a good baby.  He is rarely fussy, but when he is fussy, he is easy to calm down.  He has just started to smile at us.  He slept 6 hours overnight for the last two nights (let's hope I didn't just jinx that).  His cheeks are filling out, and I wonder if we are going to get a chubby baby like Tyler.  My favorite thing in the world is to cuddle him and smell his head.  We just love him.

Here is an instagram shot while at the doctor's office:

And here are a few other pictures from our photo shoot:

And finally, I wanted to get a picture of his old man hair before he lost it all.

Way Back Wednesday

I was searching my blog for something the other day, and loved seeing pictures of my kids when they were so much littler.  I decided it would be fun to play along with Cheryl at Twinfatuation each week when she hosts Way Back When-esday.  Here's my first time playing along.

Timeline: September 2009
Age: 3 months old

That's Carter on the left and Brady on the right.  I remember taking this because we had just taken Carter off oxygen--this was his first picture without the canula.  Wow what little boys.

My how they've grown

Last week the twins found these "hats" in our cupboard.  They are actually bowls you can get when you order ice cream at a major league baseball game.  They loved the hats and had to try them on.

This is Carter's newest "cheese" face.

Well, when going through some old photos, I found the twins sporting the same bowls/hats.

Ha!  Can you believe how much they've grown?

Baptism/Blessing Day

Last week we were able to have one of the most special days for our family: Tyler's baptism and Jackson's blessing.  We were so happy that we were able to do both things at once, which made for a wonderful day.

Tyler was thrilled to be getting baptized.  He couldn't stop talking about it for months.

Right after Tyler was baptized, we were able to do Jackson's baby blessing.   We were lucky things worked out that we could do them back to back.

It was nice to be able to have so much family there to support us.

Tyler was given some special presents: his own scriptures, cover and marking pencils, a journal, a book.

We also tried for a family picture to remember this awesome day.

I feel like one lucky lady.

My Sweet Valentine

Dan and I agreed to no Valentine's this year.  My brain is mush and my ability to get out of the house is almost nonexistent.  He is busy with work, and was even out of town that night.  But when my sweet 8 year old discovered I didn't get a valentine, he banished me from my room, set to work, and gave me a heart attack.

Man I love that boy.

Happy Groundhog's Day

This morning at 9:30, when I changed the 7th diaper of this day (that is not an exaggeration, but the actual and literal truth) I realized that my life is its own version of Groundhog's Day, as in the movie.

I get up each morning, get the kids breakfast, get Tyler off to school.  Spend the day playing with kids, refereeing, holding a baby, feeding Jackson.  That is actually my full time job with 7-8 hours a day going to feeding and diapering that sweet baby.  Tyler comes home and we do homework, play, get dinner, bathe kids, feed Jackson, and get everyone off to bed.  I'm sure my day is no different that many other moms with little kids.  I bet your life is just like Groundhogs' Day the movie too.

I did get my hair done last week, and took a trip to WalMart Monday after kids were in bed.  See what an exciting life I lead?

But I am so happy to be where I am.  For years I wondered if we would ever add to our family.  We have been blessed multiple times over.  When I am up at 3 in the morning feeding my sweet boy, I just thank God for this miracle.  I love my family, my husband, my kids.  I am definitely in a rut, but I love it.

Pictures

Just a few pictures from the last few weeks.

Tyler, my helper, feeding Jackson his bottle while Dad and I are getting shoes and socks on the twins for church.  (And just in case you are wondering, I am nursing, but have to supplement after each feeding.  Yes it is time consuming, but since we are hermits during RSV season, what else do I have to do?)

And here are the boys ready for church.  I really wanted a picture of Carter, and he was the one who wouldn't cooperate.

Here he is outside.  See how cute he is in his brown jacket?

Mom and Jackson stayed home from church, but I figured I needed a picture of him too.

And here Brady thought he would climb into the swing to watch tv.  Good thing Jackson wasn't already in it.
