Brother Love

It just might be my favorite thing about having twins--their interaction.  When they make each other laugh.  When they give each other hugs.  Even the wrestling--to a point that is.

Let me show you:

Spring Break

My mom came into town for Spring Break.  I love it when my mom visits.  I don't have to entertain her, but instead she cooks for me, helps with kids, and even folds my laundry.  We always do some shopping, and we go out to eat, oh more than once or twice.

Being Spring Break, we wanted to do something fun for Tyler and the babies.  So after one day of sickness, we managed to get in the movies (Grandma and Tyler saw Gnomeo and Juliet and gave it two thumbs up), the zoo, the park, and a few kid-friendly lunches.

Enjoy our zoo pictures:

Since I had a second adult with me, we actually let the babies get out and walk for a little while.   They love the freedom.  Here we are by the elephant exhibit--our favorite.  The baby elephant was so cute!

And just as an FYI--if you are going to go during Spring Break, make sure you get there the minute it opens or you will not find parking.  We got there at 8:55, parked and walked right in.  Perfect.

My three sons

The proud recipient of an orange belt.

Who climbed on the table after dinner, found Tyler's corn, and discovered that he loves corn on the cob!

Pardon the poor picture quality, but can you see how much he loves salsa?

I live in a house of boys

The photographic evidence:

This is just what was out in the dining room one morning.

And here are the culprits:

They pulled out measuring cups and spoons and were "eating" with them.  So adorable!

Look how big we're getting

is how we've been eating for a few weeks now.  Ack! When did my babies get so big?

Two weeks ago we loaded up the van and headed to Austin for Tyler's first karate tournament.  As a bonus, we got to see Grandma and our cousins. :)

What a great first tournament for Tyler.  See how excited he looks up there waiting for it to start?  Tyler competed in forms, breaking, and sparring.  And did awesome!

First up, forms.  Tyler snagged a first place medal for that.

Next, breaking.

My baby actually broke boards!  I was so impressed.  He choose to do a hammer fist, stomp kick, and side kick.  He nailed the first two, but the side kick stumped him.  I did tell him I was proud of him for choosing a hard one, and not doing three hammer fists like that kid that ended up taking first.

Finally, he had a sparring match where he took home another first place medal.

Here he is with all his medals--2 firsts and a a third.  I am so proud of him.  And what a great opportunity to practice and gain a bit of confidence.  Way to go bud!
