After I typed that title, I thought to myself, if only I were truly as funny as Tina Fey, this would be a much more entertaining blog post. Alas, instead all you get is our family's goings-on.
We just got back from Austin this afternoon. It is always nice to visit family and Tyler thrives around all his cousins. Dan's mom turned 60 on Saturday, so we were able to do a nice little surprise dinner for her. I assume she got rather suspicious when none of her children even called to tell her Happy Birthday. We also were going go have a BBQ with everyone, but we left early. Tyler woke up sick this morning, and since we didn't want to contaminate the relatives, we just came home.
We have also been busy preparing for our new arrival. We met the birthmother last week. Dan and I were both so impressed with her maturity and her desire to do what she thought was best for this baby. We are supposed to be meeting with her again this week. Her mother wanted to meet us, so we are just arranging schedules to make that happen. I have also sorted through all the old baby clothes, set up the bassinet, and tried not to shop too much. My dear sister Maren has a son who just turned one and she passed on his clothes to me because the seasons match. And just a quick shout out to her: Hello! She is also expecting and we are waiting to see who gets there first. Her due date is June 20, but she delivers early, and ours is June 15. Also, I think we have settled on a name, but want to wait till we meet him before deciding for sure.
