We knew they were coming, and now they are here. Brady's first tooth broke through Tuesday and Carter's on Thursday. That's the closest together they have hit any milestones.
I thought this meant an end to a small rough patch of sleeping at night, but apparently croup (diagnosed this morning) has now set out to destroy our sleep-filled nights.

Our Speical Day
I have had this post in my draft folder ever since I got copies of the pictures. I kept wavering on just how detailed to make it. I've decided to keep it short and sweet. The day the boys were sealed to us was one of the most special and spiritual days ever. It was wonderful to have so many family members and friends share that day with us. I love my boys, and I am so grateful that they are a part of our forever family.

What's new this week?
1. Poor Tyler missed two days of school this week because he kept coughing. Not during the day; only from bedtime until about midnight. Just enough to either make him throw up or not sleep. Lucky us. I think he is just fine now.
2. Carter is FINALLY off his apnea monitor. Our pulmonologist said he has only had one other patient have to wear the monitor as long. Good riddance to that nuisance!
3. Brady has curly hair. Odd that we only realized that this week. After bath one morning as I was drying his hair, there they were. I put a little product in his hair, and he has been curly-haired ever since. Let's see how long it lasts.
4. The babies turned 7 months. Wow has time flown by.
5. I discovered what may be my new favorite ice cream flavor. Blue Bell Southern Blackberry Cobbler. If you live where they sell Blue Bell, you really ought to try it. Thanks for sharing it with us Mike and Jen!

A Twin Update
As I was going through my December photos, I found a few pictures of the twins.
Also, they had their six month check up last week, and here are their stats:
Brady
17 lbs. 8 oz. (36th percentile, unadjusted; 70th percentile, adjusted)
26 inches (20th percentile, unadjusted; 60th percentile, adjusted)
Brady is also a busy boy. He is constantly moving, and he loves to put weight on his feet. He prefers interacting with people over toys or himself. He loves to eat, and quite often believes I don't feed him fast enough. He is doing well with solids, but still loves that bottle. Brady was the one with RSV. After breathing treatments and an antibiotic for an ear infection, he is back on the mend. We also had a little run in with pink eye last week, but we were actually very lucky and it cleared up after just 2 days.
Carter
16 lbs. 8 oz (20th percentile, unadjusted; 54th percentile, adjusted)
26 1/2 inches (36th percentile, unadjusted; 75th percentile, adjusted)
Carter is still my mild and sweet boy. He can certainly roll, and loves to move all over his crib when he sleeps. He was down to wearing his apnea monitor only at night, but after a severe case of eczema on his chest, I let him go a few nights with out it. When I put it back on, the next morning he was getting wires tangled around his legs, so we haven't put it back on. We are going to the pulmonologist one last time this month, but he has gone over a month with no episodes, so it looks all good. Carter is very much a hand to mouth guy--sucks on his thumb and loves to chew on toys. Carter had the same junk that Brady had last week, but his RSV test came back negative. The doctor still assumed he had RSV, but because he was tested so long after the onset of symptoms, his test may have read a false negative. But luckily, everyone is healthy now!
We went to visit my friend and her new baby last month.
Her 3 year old twins kept loving on our twins. It was so cute.

Tyler had a friend over to play.
When it was time to feed the babies,
I walked out of the room, and back in to see this.
What good helpers!

Happy Birthday Tyler
Like every mom, I am shocked at how fast my boy is growing up, and cannot believe I have a six year old. I am also pleased with the sweet boy he is becoming.
We had a low key birthday this year--no big party with friends or anything. We let Tyler pick a place for lunch, so we ended up at McDonalds. We went to Target where he got to spend some birthday money. And then we had pizza for dinner and cake and ice cream with family.
Ah, the traditional birthday chomp. We have been doing this forever in my family. All day long, Tyler was asking about taking his chunk. He gets it!
Happy Birthday bud!

Christmas Recap
And I am finally able to play some catch up.
Christmastime
I found a few more pictures of some things we did in December to get ready for Christmas. We made it to see Santa in the mall. The other pictures are of Tyler's class party.
Christmas Eve
We had a nice Christmas Eve. Growing up, that was always when we had our big meal, and truly focused on the real meaning of Christmas. We had John and Michelle (my BIL and SIL) as well as Dan's parents over. The kids frosted sugar cookies and played. We had a yummy dinner. And after reading from the Luke 2, Grandpa did what he always does, and read "Twas the Night Before Christmas."
Christmas Morning
For the second year in a row, Tyler woke up about 2 and was too excited to sleep. Just when I got him back to bed, Brady woke up. So Dan and I sat in front of the tree, rocked Brady back to sleep, and watched one of those cheesy Lifetime Movies. (Which, by the way, I absolutely love all the cheesy Christmas movies on tv this time of year.) Tyler was up for good at about 6:30, loving all his presents. We let Brady try out his new present, where he promptly feel asleep. And finally, Carter woke up and opened his things. And after breakfast we all had a nap!
Check out everybody's loot:
